Nike Air Jordan Retro High OG "Fearless UNC to Chicago"
Jordan once said, “Limits, like fears, are often just an illusion” when he was getting inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame in 2009. That quote would be referenced for Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'Fearless UNC Chicago’ shoe ten years later, tying together the star’s journey from the university team to the Windy City of Chicago. The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'Fearless' is part of the Art Jordan 1 “Fearless Ones” collection in 2019, and the shoe combines both the UNC University sky blue colours with the Chicago Varsity red, conveying Jordan’s journey to the NBA.
Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “University Blue”
Released on March 6 2021, the Air Jordan 1 “University Blue” pays homage to Michael Jordan’s college days with the UNC Tar Heels. The signature light sky blue shades wrap around the shoe on the suede mudguard, eyestays, heel and collar flaps, contrasting the clean white midsoles and black tumbled leather swooshes and collars. For OG fans, this is the shoe that you wouldn’t want to miss.
Something for Women
NIke WMNS Dunk Low Coast
If you’ve been a long-time fan of the basketball legend, you might recognise the familiar pastel blue and white combination of the women’s dunk low in Coast. Echoing the well-known UNC jersey colours, the shoe was released just last month after several teasers in the past few months.
Maintaining the original 1985 classic look of the Nike Dunk, the colours make us reminisce about the North Carolina jersey days with its UNC blue and white tones. A slight pop of yellow can be found on the heel tab and woven tongue tag from the Nike branding, giving the shoe a surprising burst of colour amidst the two-tone colour blocking.
Womens Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "Blue Chill"
This one’s for the ladies: Released in February 2019, the Jordan 1 in Blue Chill was released in a women’s only silhouette. Featuring shiny patent leather in UNC-inspired sky blue, navy Obsidian accents as well as white contrasting midsole and side panels, this colourway received envious complaints by the gents—and rightfully so.
All Shades of Blue
Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "Obsidian"
Released in August 2019, this ‘Obsidian’ colourway pays tribute to Jordan’s college alma mater. Featuring the same UNC-inspired University blues on the ankle collar, the shoe is complemented with a white base and midsole, while the dark obsidian details tie everything together. Despite the style being nearly two years old, the Obsidian still draws fans, with the highest sale price in the last 52 weeks recorded at US$862 on StockX.
